G&B Specialities kit
- R290
G & B Specialties Model R-290 is applicable to vehicles up to 5.6t. Identical, ultra-compact rotating front and rear railgear units are standard. Railgear locks automatically in both road and rail position. Proven “Cushion-Ride” suspension provides superior ride quality, reduced vibration through the vehicle frame, less component stress, and constant rail wheel to rail contact. No railgear adjustments are required for varying loads. Rail wheel assemblies are bolted to the axles for simple wheel alignment. All four rail wheels provide full track circuit isolation. Included 12VDC electric / hydraulic pump and reservoir with sealed push button controls and emergency hand pump provides safe and easy access to the rail. Optional in-cab railgear controls are available. Includes vehicle wheel modification kit to center vehicles front and rear tires on rail. Few moving parts result in low maintenance and lubrication costs. Fully installed weight is approximately 204 kgs front and 227 kgs rear.

This 100% duty cycle railgear was designed to meet the task at hand. Equip a light truck that has a maximum GVM rating of 8.8t.

No railgear adjustments are required for varying loads. G & B Specialties R-460 Railgear has two hydraulic cylinders on both the front and rear units, providing power to spare under full vehicle capacity.
On rail, the vehicle’s front wheels are raised a minimum of 50mm above the rail head and the vehicle front axle is mechanically locked in place.
- R650
G & B Specialties Model R-650 railgear is designed for vehicles up to 17.6t. Both rotating and vertical front railgear units are available. Rotating rear railgear is standard. The R-650 uses 12” diameter cast or forged steel wheels with heavy duty tapered roller bearings. Proven “Cushion-Ride” suspension provides ride quality, reduced vibration through the vehicle frame, less component stress, and constant rail wheel to rail contact. No railgear adjustments are required for varying loads. With G & B Cushion-Ride Railgear, there are no limits imposed. If the vehicle can support the load, so can the railgear. G & B Specialties R-650 Railgear has two hydraulic cylinders on both the front and rear units, providing power to spare under full vehicle capacity. On rail, the vehicle’s front wheels are raised a minimum of 75mm above the rail head and the vehicle axle is hydraulically or manually locked in place, and all four rail wheels provide full track circuit isolation.
- R1100
G & B Specialties Model R-1100 railgear is designed for vehicles 14.9t and larger. The R-1100 front railgear utilises the vehicle’s front suspension and the vehicle’s frame to lift the front wheels off the track. Attaching to the vehicle’s front suspension and frame makes this design more advantageous for the proper support of the vehicle. The dual scissor rear railgear attaches to the truck’s frame behind the spring hangers. The scissor action of the rear railgear makes it possible for the rear railgear to be moved along both the X and Y plane. This design makes for a more speedy operation of getting the vehicle on track and off track.
